History: I read about George Washington and how sense he was the first president he made some of the rules/traditions. One big one was that he decided that you should only get to run for two terms. I watched Crash Course U.S. History #10 which talked about Jefferson's presidency, the Louisiana Purchase, and also what happened to the US vs what Jefferson hoped would happen with regard to the US being an agrarian based economy.
Science: I learned about worm gears and how they have ratios just like normal gears. One unique thing about them is they can change a very fast motion into a much slower one without needing a really big gear.
Welding: We did a bunch of worksheets about welding because we had a sub. On Friday I worked more on a welding type that I’m having trouble with. It is on a really thin sheet of metal, like 1/8th inch.
Language Arts: One of my writing lessons this week was about the importance of realizing that your writing isn’t you. It is just something you created. Even if you write something and it isn’t very good, that doesn’t mean you aren’t good. The other lesson was about how you can really write about anything, so we took the letters of our first name and came up with a word that started with each letter and then wrote a couple sentences about two of them. I did “cat” for C and wrote a bit about what I like about cats.
Math: My lessons this week were Subtraction of Like Terms and Multiplication with Algebraic Expressions. I also had a quiz.
Sports Conditioning: Had a basketball game. My foot was bugging me during practice one day so I went to the trainer. The next day it wasn’t hurting, so that’s good.
Drone: Canvas class.
