Week 39

L. Arts: i did another article reading and did a bullet map of it. The article was about the meat shortage caused by the coronavirus.

Math: I did more proofs this week. I don’t like them at all. The main one was on drawing lines that are radii of circles and proving that they are the same length as other lines. I took a quiz.

Science: I learned about resistors and how they restrict the flow of electricity. Also about different types of circuits like a series and parallel.

History: Butch Cassidy was born in Utah in 1866, as a kid he learned to ride a horse, fire a rifle, rope a cow. In his late teen years he worked as a rancher. After that his first crime he stole a pair of jeans and a pie, he left an IOU on the shop counter with the intent of repaying the shop owner. After that is was lots of crimes and heists. Butch robbed trains, banks, mining company's. His final moments were in a bank after a failed robbery, he and the Sundance kid were surrounded and we're being shot at from all sides. The most likely story is that after putting his comrade out of his misery and then took his own life as to not be caught and put in jail.

Welding: only assignment this week was to fill out a teacher evaluation so I did that.

Sports conditioning: this week was just a chance to make up any missed weeks. I did go on a backpacking overnight trip though. I also went hiking with my family.

Drone: Canvas class.

Week 38

L. Arts: I read an article about increased internet demand during the pandemic and the challenges it creates. It also mentioned the broadband gap for the 15% of rural households that don’t have high speed internet. I marked the keywords and made a Mindmap of the article, then summarized it orally.

Math: I took a quiz. I learned about the two step proofs for lines crossing in a circle and lines tangent to a circle.

Science: Science has just been working on mini house, Ive finished all the walls and the lighting. Not sure if it will have a roof but it's pretty cool already. It was fun to build and learn about how real houses are made.
History: History was about president Theodore Roosevelt. Roosevelt was the president that got the Panama canal built. He is also the first president to receive the nobel peace prize.

Welding: I had a quiz on different types of welds. He had photos and we had to identify them.

Drone: I turned in my obstacle course video. I worked on some of the other videos.

Sports Conditioning (PE): This week I kept working on my goals from last week. I decided to just do a certain number of reps rather than time how many I could do in a minute.

These were my favorite tulips at the Tulip Festival.

Week 37

L. Arts: I listened to the last lecture in The Writing Course. I read an article and wrote a short response to it.

Math: I took a quiz. New content this week was solving systems of equaTions from graphs and more about simplifying complex fractions.

Science: Science has just been working on mini house, Ive finished all the walls and the lighting. Not sure if it will have a roof but it's pretty cool already. It was fun to build and learn about how real houses are made.
History: History was about progressivism. The late 1800s were a time of reforms. There were many different reforms like the political reform, the educational reform and the labor reform. Another problem was child labor since you could pay kids less there were a lot of kids working in harsh environments.
Welding: I had to answer a bunch of questions about myself. It was kind of a self evaluation for the class, looking for things I could improve on.

Drone: I did the obstacle course in my back yard around our 9 square set. Canvas.

Sports Conditioning (PE): we had to come up with some metrics to measure and goals for ourselves. I did mile run, pull ups, sit ups, and push ups. My mom showed me a route around our neighborhood that is 1.01 miles so that is nice. I don’t love running but I did feel good after finishing so I am going to work on keeping it up. I ran two times this week. I went mountain biking with my friend for his birthday and crashed once. I kind of damaged my brake grip thing on my bike and scraped up my forearm pretty badly, but it was still fun.

Other: I helped my dad install a winch on my mom’s jeep. I also helped him move the big furniture out of his office.
